“HOW IMPORTANT IS THE WORD OF GOD TO YOU WHEN IT COMES TO . . . REALIZING HOW SPECIAL WE ARE TO GOD?
When someone says to you: “Just because you say that you are a child of God does that make it so and is that supposed to make you special?” You might want to respond: “I’m not special because I say that I’m a child of God, but being a child of God does make me special. You see, being a child of God is not an ordinary or everyday occurrence. You know that we must give some scriptural references so let me see if I can give you a scriptural SHORT answer:”
“Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7 (NIV)
“Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” 3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” John 3:1-8 (NIV)
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” Romans 8:14-16 (NIV)
When GOD gave man the breath of life, He put in Him a part of Himself. It is not done the same way that Jesus is. However, to regain that part of GOD which was placed into man at his creation is to be born again! This is not a normal occurrence that just happens to men every day.
We who have been Born Again have experienced something SUPERNATURAL! We have felt the drawing of the Holy Spirit, we believed it was the Holy Spirit, we have believed what the word of God (Holy Bible) says about being born again, and having been adopted into the family of God, we are now children of GOD; and that makes us SPECIAL!!!
