WHEN IT COMES TO . . . ?”
I am your host Brother Henry Cotton, Jr. and I am also the Pastor of the SJMBC. Welcome to our Podcast. We will be broadcasting every day during this Holy Week Celebration by remembering Jesus “Seven Last Words from the Cross.” The topic for our Podcast today is:
“HOW IMPORTANT IS THE WORD OF GOD TO YOU WHEN IT COMES TO . . . THE WORD OF VICTORY!”
As Jesus hung on the cross in excruciating pain; having been bruised, beaten and bloodied, the Bible singles out seven last phrases (or words) that Jesus spoke. The sixth word was:
“It is finished!” (John 19:30).
Everything that the Father needed Jesus to do was done. Everything Jesus wanted to do was done. When Jesus made this declaration, this meant that His suffering has come to an end, and the way for the people He came here to provide the way for them to obtain eternal salvation was done. His mission was accomplished; the payment for man’s debt of sin was PAID IN FULL!
Some will say ask “Why didn’t Jesus just feed, heal, and save everybody?” I wish the word of spelled it out for us in black and white for everyone to see it clearly written. Instead, God has declared that we are to acknowledge the sacrifice that his Son Jesus made for us by believing that Jesus suffered, bled, died, resurrected, and ascended into Heaven for us. Jesus himself declared that “YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN!” Without being born from above, man cannot see or enter into the Kingdom of God. Therefore God has declared that man has to recognize that the only way he can be born again is through GOD’S only begotten son JESUS!
