I am your host Brother Henry Cotton, Jr. and I am also the Pastor of the SJMBC. Welcome to Podcast number 11. The topic for our Podcast today is:
“HOW IMPORTANT IS THE WORD OF GOD TO YOU WHEN IT COMES TO . . . WISHING FOR WORLD PEACE”
We have been watching people win all different types of awards for years (Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, etc.), and for years we have so many nominees and awardees say that they wish for “World Peace” in their speeches . . . has it happened yet?
We have even heard Politicians and many other World Leaders also say that they desire World Peace; has it happened yet? Despite people voicing a desire for World Peace, is there a real conscience effort being made to achieve this? Is this a real goal for the world or just lofty dreams and desires? Does the word of God have anything to say about this desire?
“ If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. “ 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days,2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – 5 having a form of godliness( but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.“ 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NIV)

These are just a few verses from the word of God (The Holy Bible). Does this mean that it is hopeless for man? No! What it means is that man’s destiny is explained clearly in the word of God, and if man wants to be at any form of peace in these “Last Days,” then He had better get with Jesus and what thus says the Holy Bible.
