St James Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday Night Bible Study 3/12/2025
Question: Who are John and the Angel talking about in “REVELATION 22:10-11?”
POINTS –
- “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.“ Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) – In spite of the evil nature of man, and in spite of all the evil and disobedient acts that man has committed before God, God’s love for man had Him provide a means for man to be saved from the consequences of his sins (expound).
- 10 Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near. 11 Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.” Revelation 22: 10-11 (NIV)
So that there will be NO misunderstanding, the Bible makes it perfectly clear:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 3:16 -18 (NIV)
CONCLUSION
Even after teaching people that all they need to do is wholeheartedly believe that Jesus is exactly who He says He is and then receive Him as their Lord and Savior; and then they will have all the hope they will ever need to get them through this world and the world to come, many of them still will refuse to receive this message of salvation!
The people who John and the angel are talking about in this passage are those who have been left behind after the LORD Raptured up the church; these are those who are going through the tribulation period.
How many Believers are taking notice of the following important facts found in the book of Revelation? In the first three chapters of the book of Revelation:
- John talks about his vision of Christ and then he records the letters that he sent to “ALL THE CHURCHES.”
- Starting with the fourth (4) chapter, through chapter eighteen (18), everything is about the Tribulation period (Seals, Bowls, etc.
- In the first three (3) chapters of the book of Revelation, the word “CHURCH” is found 19 times.
- However, in chapters four (4) through 19 it is not found at all! Do you know why? Because the CHURCH is gone!
It is for this very reason that God will not always be gracious to man. With everything that God has done for man, when man refuses to accept what God has done for Him; especially refusing to receive the gift of His only begotten son, the day will come when God’s liberality will be withdrawn. In other words that is when God will let man know that . . .
THE GRACE PERIOD WILL BE OVER!
Beloved, don’t get things twisted; God has already provided the world with hope. We know that we are not going to be here on this earth forever and after we are done with this life, our eternal home awaits. If you neglect the gracious gift of God’s son Jesus Christ, there will not be a resting place for you with Him!
God is allowing man to simply BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. But there will be a time when people will have to believe to PROVE their faith, and this proof will come at a great price! This is when God’s grace will NOT be granted like it is now.
