GOOD MORNING BELOVED!

Welcome to another edition of the SJMBC Podcast:

“HOW IMPORTANT IS THE WORD OF GOD TO YOU

WHEN IT COMES TO . . . ?”

You see, even though Christmas Day and the Christmas Season is arguably the most  popular time of the year, many people have no idea why there is a “Christmas” to celebrate!

I am your host Brother Henry Cotton, Jr. and I am also the Pastor of the SJMBC. Welcome to our Podcast. The topic for our Podcast today is:

HOW IMPORTANT IS THE WORD OF GOD TO YOU WHEN IT COMES TO . . . THE TRUE CHRISTMAS STORY?

Santa Claus, presents for the children, gifts for family and friends, family get together, good will towards men, the time for giving, etc. All of these are things commonly done and expressed during the Christmas Season. However, what is commonly missing is:

“THE TRUE CHRISTMAS STORY!”

You see, even though Christmas Day and the Christmas Season is arguably the most  popular time of the year, many people have no idea why there is a “Christmas” to celebrate! For some reasons, many people do not bring themselves to believe and teach that the only place to get the true Christmas story is in the Holy Bible because we celebrate Christmas because Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ!

There are many things that took place leading up to Jesus’ birth, during Jesus’ birth, and since Jesus birth, and these need to be told so that people will know why the most popular day and season in the world is celebrated.

There are a lot of scriptures in the Holy Bible that talk about the birth of Jesus, but I am only going to point out where to find a few of them:

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Matthew 1:18-25

. . . And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus . . . Luke 1:26-32

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:7-14

Reading these passages of scripture will be a great start to learning and understanding why the world celebrates Christmas Day and the Christmas Season, yet does not acknowledges the reason for the season!
