Greeting you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
The Lord allowed me to preach about this recently, and apparently it seems to have stirred some people up. I think that the ones who get stirred up about this are those who are not saved, those who PROFESS salvation but don’t really POSSESS salvation, those who are “babies” in their Christian growth, or those who have not allow the word of God to become that important to them.
There are many people watching the way many professing “Christians” are living, and a lot of them are confused because they see so many of these Christians living lives that are not glorifying God. Matter of fact, many are living lives that go completely contrary to the way the Holy Bible instructs Christians to live. To those who believe that the Holy Bible is the inerrant and unerring word of God, there really should not be any confusion:
Χριστιανός Christianós, khris-tee-an-os’; a Christian, i.e. A follower of Christ.
“Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.” Acts 26:28 (KJV)
“Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?” Acts 26:28 (NIV)
“No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10. this is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.” 1 John 3:5-10 (NIV)”
There are many scriptures that can be used to point out how Christians should conduct themselves, but the issue of Christians losing their salvation is made pretty clear in the scriptures that it is “EVERLASTING LIFE” that a person receives when they become Saved/Born Again. However, the bigger question that needs to be addressed is: “Who determines if a person is POSSESSING or just PROFESSING salvation?
