I am your host Brother Henry Cotton, Jr. and I am also the Pastor of the SJMBC. Welcome to our Podcast. The topic for our Podcast today is:
“HOW IMPORTANT IS THE WORD OF GOD TO YOU WHEN IT COMES TO . . . PRACTICE MAKING PERFECT!”
Many of us are familiar with the old colloquialism “Practice Makes Perfect!” This infers that the more you do something, the better you become at doing it. Some people will call what you are constantly doing a habitual act or maybe even an addiction; depending on what is you are doing.
Nevertheless, there are some things we do habitually that we intended to make a habit of; like the times we eat, the time we go to bed, the time we have our devotions, and even places we go. Some of us even have a certain way that we say or do things. These characteristics and mannerisms may also be considered as habits. Some of us have certain habits that society calls “Character Flaws” which may also be considered as habits; such as lying, stealing, drinking alcohol, etc. There are habits that some of us have that we purposely created for ourselves. In Jesus’ case, we even see where He created a habit for Himself; we called it “His Custom!”
“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.” Luke 4:16 (KJV)
