CHRIST (Jesus/The Word)

As mentioned in the Introduction and the Preface, people choose a variety of resources to obtain information, instructions, counsel, and advice; everything and everyone from Family Members, Friends, Books, Mediums, Spiritual Advisors, Astrology, Psychiatrists and Psychologists, Old and Modern Day Philosophers, Religious Figures, Seminars, Agencies, etc.

People choose to obtain their information from a variety of sources and for a variety of reasons; everything from being recommended by someone, or being based on their own personal beliefs. In this book, the source of our information comes from Jesus Christ . . . the Holy Bible.

The words and teachings from the Holy Bible are probably quoted more than from any other book in the world. No matter what type(s) of relationship(s) we are talking about (Friends, Business Partners, Spouses, Neighbors, Comrades, etc.  We will find valuable information in the Holy Bible concerning that relationship. When it comes to the issue of Relationships, here are a few verses that might have one consider the value of the teachings found in the Holy Bible:

  • “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.”
13 With my lips I recount all the laws that COME FROM YOUR MOUTH.” Psalm 119:9, 13 (NIV)
  • Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
  • “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” JOHN 1:1-5 (NIV)

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

 JOHN 1:14 (NIV)

  • You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.” John 5:39-40 (NIV)
  • ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD-BREATHED and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)
  • Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?” Amos 3:3 (NIV)
  • A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.”

Proverbs 17:17 (NIV)

  • The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man. 24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” Genesis 2:23-24 (NIV)
  • For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Matthew 19:5-6 (NIV)
  • “. . . I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.” Luke 16:1-9 (NIV)

This is just a small example of some of the teachings found in the Holy Bible pertaining to relationships. So if a person is going to use a source for instruction, advice, counseling, etc. Why not use one that is tried, true, and inerrant?
