“HOW IMPORTANT IS THE WORD OF GOD TO YOU WHEN IT COMES TO . . . DEATH?”
The subject of death is “touchy and fearful” for a lot of people; even Believers on the Lord Jesus! The scriptures tells us that there is a time to mourn and to grieve, but why are so many people afraid to talk about it when they know that death is eminent? What are some of the reasons why people are afraid to talk about that which they know is going to happen?
- They don’t know when death is going to happen.
- They don’t know how death is going to happen.
- They are not sure of what happens after death.
- They are afraid of what might happen death.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have these fears/concerns confirmed in their minds so that the fear can be removed? Many people turn to various beliefs to try and set their minds at ease on the subject of death.
Many people still have not grasped the fact that just because they choose to, or not to believe something, that doesn’t make it true. There are a plethora of Bible verses that can be used on the subject of death; I am just going to share a few:
“See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: Neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.” Deuteronomy 32:39 (KJV)
“The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: He bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.” 1 Samuel 2:6 (KJV)
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” John 11:25-26 (KJV)
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
