I am your host Brother Henry Cotton, Jr. and I am also the Pastor of the SJMBC. Welcome to our Podcast. The topic for our Podcast today is:
“HOW IMPORTANT IS THE WORD OF GOD TO YOU WHEN IT COMES TO . . . Believing The WORD of GOD . . . The Holy Bible?”
Why does it seem like so many people have a problem believing the Holy Bible aka The WORD OF GOD? I’m not just talking about the everyday person, but I’m talking about professing Christians as well. As I have stated numerous times, there are many people who claim to believe IN GOD, but they don’t show the fruit of one who BELIEVES GOD!
I believe that one of the reasons for this problem is because a lot of people have difficulty associating Jesus Christ: The WORD with Jesus Christ Word; the Holy Bible. Maybe these few scriptures will help give some clarity and understanding about “The WORD.”
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” John 1: 1-4 (NIV)
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 (KJV)
“See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.“ Isaiah 65:17 (NIV)
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.“ Matthew 24:35 (NIV)
“You study[ the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.“ John 5:39-40 (NIV)
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.“ 1 John 5:7 (KJV)
“And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.“ 1 John 5:8 (KJV)
Once people understand that they cannot separate GOD’S WORD from GOD’S written Word, then there will not be that problem of BELIEVING GOD!
